Aces Cup National Calligraphy Competition Attracts 680 Entries from Across Taiwan

ACES Electronics Co., Ltd. (3605), in partnership with the Warm Current Education Foundation, hosted the “Aces Cup National Calligraphy Competition.” The competition featured five categories—Elementary School, Junior High School, Senior/Vocational High School, College & General Public, and Seniors—with a total prize pool of more than NT$200,000. Following the preliminary selection of 680 entries, 140 participants advanced to the on-site final round. The finals successfully concluded on August 29 at the Aces Group R&D Headquarters. Participants came from across Taiwan, ranging from 8-year-old schoolchildren to 80-year-old seniors, with international competitors also joining the event. Their participation demonstrated a shared passion for calligraphy and Chinese character art across generations and backgrounds.
 

At the finals, over a hundred competitors demonstrated their brushwork with intense focus, filling the venue with the rich aroma of ink. To enhance the professionalism of the competition, the organizers invited five renowned contemporary Taiwanese calligraphy masters and scholars to serve on the judging panel: nationally acclaimed master Lian Sheng-yen (連勝彥); Professor Lin Rong-sen (林榮森) of the Department of Chinese Literature at National Chung Hsing University; renowned contemporary calligrapher Shih Yung-hua (施永華); distinguished calligrapher and seal-engraving artist Dr. Tseng Tzu-yun (曾子雲); and Yang Hsu-tang (楊旭堂), President of the Chinese Calligraphy Education Association. The jury awarded 15 top-three prizes across all categories, alongside 48 honorable mentions. In addition to receiving certificates and cash prizes, the winning works will be exhibited as part of the Group’s upcoming philanthropic initiatives.
